News Over 3.2 Million Rupees Generated From Ticket Sales In 3rd Taplejung Gold Cup

The 3rd edition of the Taplejung Gold Cup saw ticket sales worth more than 3.2 million rupees. The tournament, held from August 8 to August 15, generated a total of 3,246,700 rupees from ticket sales.

Organized by the Lakhe Jatra Operating Committee on the occasion of the Lakhe Jatra festival, this year’s ticketing was managed through a contract bidding process.

According to committee treasurer Dawa Sherpa, ticket sales amounted to 961,500 rupees during the quarterfinals, 785,200 rupees in the semifinals, and 1.5 million rupees in the final match.

The committee had fixed ticket prices at Rs. 100 for the quarterfinals, Rs. 200 for the semifinals, and Rs. 250 for the final. In addition, spectators entering the ground with tickets were eligible to win a smartphone every day through a lucky draw.

Last year’s runners-up Salhesh Youth Club, Siraha clinched the title this year. With the championship, they received Rs. 702,082 in cash, along with a trophy, medals, and certificates. Church Boys United, Lalitpur, finished as runners-up and bagged Rs. 350,000.
