Himalaya Sports Club Red has won the prestigious and one of the oldest football tournaments among the Nepali community in Finland, the 8th FC Gaule Cup.
In the final, Himalaya defeated Laligurans Football Club 3–0 to secure the championship. Pravesh Pandey was the hero of the match, scoring twice, while Sagun Sharma added another goal to seal the emphatic victory.
The champions, Himalaya Sports Club Red, bagged the title along with a cash prize of €1,000, while runners-up Laligurans had to settle for €500, along with a trophy and medals. Pandey’s outstanding performance throughout the competition earned him the award for the tournament’s Best Player.
Meanwhile, in the veterans’ category, which was introduced for the first time this year, Mirmire Football Club emerged as champions. The tournament saw the participation of 9 teams in the open category and 4 teams in the veterans’ category.
